There is increasing talk from U.S. intelligence that Putin may, at some point, seek some type of exit strategy from Ukraine. This is coming from leaders in the intelligence community. However, these leaders warn that before that happens, things may get worse — much worse.

Per Yahoo News, “Putin feels aggrieved the west does not give him proper deference and perceives this as a war he cannot afford to lose … But what he might be willing to accept as a victory may change over time, given the significant costs he is incurring. These words were spoken by Avril Haines, director of National Intelligence.

CIA director William Burns chimed in, saying in his opinion Putin’s position is untenable: “I think Putin is angry and frustrated right now. He’d like to double down and try to grind down the Ukrainian military with no regard for human casualties … He has no sustainable political endgame in the face of what is going to be fierce resistance from Ukrainians … That’s the reality of what he faces today.”

We know Putin will never just admit defeat and go. He’s a murderer, a narcissist, and never shows any vulnerabilities. But things are only going to look bleaker for him as time goes by. The response we see from around the world isn’t temporary. It will not change tomorrow or next week, or next month. If he continues in this way, life will become even more difficult for him.

And many Russians are still protesting. Many have been jailed, but plenty more are still there. Right now, Putin is raging. Like Trump, Putin cannot and will never admit a mistake. His playbook is red-hot quaking rage. So many call it a war between Russia and Ukraine. I do not believe this is accurate. The war is a battle started by Putin against Ukraine. It is not Russia who rages — it’s one evil man.

“How does this end?” Adam Schiff wondered aloud. President Biden is doing a fantastic job in slowly chipping away at the foundation of Putin’s world. Bit by bit, trickle by trickle, actions are being taken. And now there is the ban on oil imports from Russia. How this ends, nobody can say for sure right now. But it is one man versus the world. And the world will not stop.
