We need to talk about Marco Rubio
We need to talk about Marco Rubio. The fearful Floridian is in a major fight to save his Senate seat. This is a fight we must win. And we can with Val Demings. She is an incredible candidate. But Florida will be tough. It always is. So we must pour a great deal of time into the sunshine state. Somebody else who appears to agree is Fred Guttenberg.
Guttenberg’s daughter Jaime was murdered at Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School. This was the Parkland Florida shooting. I am subscribed to receive emails from Guttenberg, who has become quite an activist for protecting people from gun violence. This has, according to Fred, become his “life’s purpose and mission.”
According to the email, Rubio “refused to work with Parkland survivors to reduce gun violence.” Does this surprise anyone? You all, I am sure, remember Rubio’s weak response live on stage when confronted by said survivors.
Rubio adores the NRA. They have been extremely generous donors to the scruffy Senator’s campaign. Rubio might not, at first glance, appear to be as dangerous as some other Senators. He may not appear to be this way because he comes off as so weak. But he IS dangerous. And we must defeat him.
I do NOT want to see Florida forgotten in the midterms. We MUST make this seat a blazing priority. We have all the tools needed to win. We have passionate activists. We have a magnificent candidate. And we have a current Senator who does nothing — nothing at all.
