“It’s the economy, stupid”
“It’s the economy, stupid.” This phrase is one you can often hear. Just turn on the TV, and one can usually expect to hear it from one pundit or another. Well, if it really IS the economy, then fate has delivered some excellent news — for President Joe Biden and for all of us.
The GDP report by the Bureau of Economic Analysis says the economy is on the upswing. And it’s quite an upswing — it’s an upswing that has reached heights nobody really expected it to get to — but it has.
The economy last year has grown at a rate of 5.7 percent. This means a great deal. This is the fastest growth spurt since 1984 in the days of Ronald Reagan. Consumer spending was a huge factor — and this DESPITE Covid.
The economy barreled past expectations, its growth soaring into the welcoming skies and crushing many a Republican talking point. And as we creep steadily towards voting day, the news couldn’t come at a more welcome time.
Of course, we have President Biden to thank for all of this. He has proven himself to be a steady and focused leader, and unlike the orange monster, he actually knows what he’s doing.
So we need to get the word out — as much as we can. And let’s thank our President and welcome this good news. We’ve had much good news lately, and we need to keep the wave of optimism going all the way to the polls.
