Madison Cawthorn goes off the deep end during hearing
North Carolina Rep. Madison Cawthorn appears unable to stop his grubby, destructive and self-serving behavior – and it is pissing off a lot of people. There was a recent Veterans’ Affairs hearing. The meeting was virtual, and the topic of the day was chemicals — and how the toxicity of some of these said chemicals were harming and, in some cases killing members of our military.
According to the Daily Beast, during the testimony of a veteran from Afghanistan named Jen Burch, Cawthorn appeared distracted, bored, and uninvolved. The reason for Cawthorn’s lack of involvement soon became apparent. Cawthorn took out a pistol — which he then proceeded to clean — during the testimony.
The whole meeting was through Zoom so people could easily see what the distracted boy-child was doing as he showed far more interest in making sure his pistol was clean and sparkly than anything that the Veteran was saying.
Of course, many of the attendees were infuriated. “It was immature. He’s a child. He lacks common sense.” said former 9/11 first responder John Feal. The people engaged in earnest discussion about the military’s toxic exposure to chemicals were aghast.
This did not appear to matter to Cawthorn, who went on prodding and poking at the gun in his determined efforts to make it shine.
When asked later for a statement on why Cawthorn put his pistol before the testimony of American heroes, his communications director replied: “What could possibly be more patriotic than guns and veterans?”
I could think of many things to call Cawthorn but “patriotic” definitely isn’t one of them. In reality, I suspect why Cawthorn did this. I don’t think he gives a damn — about the Veterans OR his shiny, clean pistol. I think Cawthorn wanted to “own the libs.” If that’s what he wanted, it sure didn’t work.
One has to remember we are dealing with an imbecile — a child with the mentality of a two-year-old. He does not appear to care about anything except violence and inspiring outrage. His soul is an opaque tent of hate which doesn’t exactly leave much room for fond thoughts on how to help Veterans.
And all his behavior did was show us once again that Madison Cawthorn isn’t fit to be in the same room as Veterans, let alone be working in Congress.
