Nice try, Kyrsten Sinema!

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

There is a rumor that seems to be floating about. It is a rather preposterous rumor, but many people are talking about this one as rumors tend to go. And they have much to say about it. And the rumor is that Kyrsten Sinema is acting the way she is because she intends to run for President in 2024.

This rumor is rather bizarre, but I am seeing it everywhere. And I have a few things to say about it. If Sinema keeps going the way she is, she won’t be able to get elected anywhere for anything. It would be virtually impossible.

Now the Senator is not dumb. But she, like many, probably can be influenced by the people around her. But one would hope that there would be someone to pour cold water on this fantasy if the rumor is even true.

Sinema won’t survive a primary challenge in 2024, let alone be able to run for President and win. Let’s break it down. First off — the 2024 Presidential nomination is Joe Biden’s if he wants it. Second — this woman is a Chameleon. She comes in various bright colors, and like Chameleons do, she quickly disappears from one disguise to the next.

She has alienated Democrats to the point where their fury can barely be disguised. I genuinely believe there is not one Democrat who would vote for her.

Republicans? They are Trumpy to the point where finding a candidate in favor of the big lie is their only agenda. And Sinema will not go that far.

So — who is her constituency? Who is the audience with whom she imagines she would speak? The answer is — nobody. It doesn’t exist. Perhaps the Arizona Senator is currently wearing the color of denial and believes the bullshit. Or maybe this is just another rumor.

Sinema has hurt her political career so severely it is almost beyond saving. If she wants to make her mark, she should assume the color of heroism.

She should reach out to President Biden and say she’s changed her mind and will vote to remove the filibuster. If she chooses not to do so, the chameleon will find only one color that suites her — the color of defeat.
