The real threat here

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

It is unfortunate to go on social media and see heartbreaking messages from people whose friends and family members are shunning them because they are not Trump supporters. Perhaps it’s happened to you. It seems every day I hear yet another story of angst of this sort. But many of them are not just about Trump. Many of them are specifically about Fox Non-News.

People who have dropped down the Fox rabbit hole now scoff at their relatives’ concern about Covid vaccinations. Friends accuse friends of “hiding away” instead of being brave. It sets my teeth on edge. I am convinced — that Fox is more of an existential threat than Donald Trump is. My proof?

If Trump were arrested tomorrow, nothing in this country would change. But if Fox were not on the air? The world would be so different. That is why I view Fox as so much more dangerous than the orange maniac.

Sadly, they appear to be here with us to stay. And every year, they get viler, it would seem. I do not have a solution myself on what to do about Fox. Realistically, their hosts will stick around, and even if Tucker were fired tomorrow, a new hate-speaker would likely soon take his place.

Fox has turned family member against family member, friend against friend — and they revel in it. I hope some of these folks come to their senses, but that is hard to do when one is being brainwashed daily.
