The ground is suddenly shifting beneath the cable news networks’ feet

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

There seems to be a reshuffling going on in the Cable News industry. I am sure you’ve noticed. Losing Brian Williams was a significant loss. And, of course, there was the firing of Chris Cuomo. Now Chris Wallace, about the only sane one left at Fox Non-News, has left the hate station to join CNN Streaming Services.

“I didn’t see that coming” is the talk around town about this move. I do not blame Wallace. He was the only true journalist left at Fox and, by all accounts, had not been happy there. Reportedly, Wallace was among those who complained about Tucker Carlson and his ghastly Patriot Purge.

Of course, Fox, being who they are (soulless, evil, and hateful), did not listen to Wallace and let the hate propaganda hit their screens. Huge mistake, Fox.

And now, with his leaving, Wallace has proven that he, too, has a breaking point. And now Fox stands naked in its hate, oblivious to the ability to report facts. I have a feeling they will regret this. There are now no longer any foxes guarding the hen house. Fox is merely a network of hate, and it appears any chance of saving themselves is long gone.

Wallace will no doubt enjoy his new role at CNN Streaming. He will reportedly be reporting on many other subjects than politics. Now the question is — all these vacancies at the Cable networks. Who will fill them?

The choices of these networks will tell us much about where they want their networks to go and what they want them to look like. These networks have enormous decisions to make, and said decisions will impact their images and ratings for years. I hope they choose wisely.
