The real problem we’re facing

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

“When bad men combine, the good must associate; else they will fall, one by one, an unpitied sacrifice in a contemptible struggle.” This quote is from Edmund Burke,1770. Now bad men and women have combined in the Republican Party. We’re finding out our democracy hinged on Pence seeking advice from Dan Quayle and on General Milley extending the hand to the Chinese. These are disconcerting times indeed.

All of these corrupt and crazy actions by the Trump administration need a thorough investigation by Congress and law enforcement. The problem is we’ve had too many bigtime officials corrupted by their allegiances to The Federalist Society, The Heritage Foundation and other conservative think tanks. On the face of them, they’re all about liberty, but it’s liberty for them, the rich, white and male. The Dems have no liberal counterparts to them.

So, what’s the solution? The immediate solution is to vote blue no matter what. The Republican party should be viewed as corrupt, malignant, and dead. The Liz Cheneys and Mitt Romneys are too few to make a difference. We need a two-party system but until the phoenix can rise from the ashes of the Trump administration, Republicans should be viewed as traitors to America. Vote them all out and throw the criminals into prison.
