Lauren Boebert can’t talk her way out of this scandal
Now that the January 6th Committee is going after Lauren Boebert’s phone records, she’s calling for President Biden to resign. Of course she is. It’s what corrupt right wing politicians do these days. The more legal trouble they find themselves in, the more loudly they try to verbally raise the stakes.
But verbal rhetoric doesn’t get politicians off the hook for criminal acts – at least not anymore. Things temporarily worked that way while Donald Trump had control of the Department of Justice, and was able to keep himself and his cronies from being investigated or prosecuted. But those days are over, even though no one in Trump world seems to understand that.
Idiots like Lauren Boebert just keep relying on the Trump playbook, without realizing the Trump playbook is what got Donald Trump thrown out on his butt to begin with. You can’t just run your mouth whenever you get into legal trouble. In addition to her January 6th troubles, Salon is reporting that Boebert has millions of dollars in campaign finance problems. Good luck talking her way out of that one.
