Ron DeSantis caught in Ivermectin scandal

It wasn’t enough that Donald Trump promoted everything from hydroxychloroquine to bleach as phony and dangerous COVID cures. Now some of the Republicans who remain in office are making things even worse by promoting Ivermectin as the latest phony COVID miracle cure. But why?

When it comes to Louie Gohmert, we’re presuming he’s promoting Ivermectin – a livestock dewormer product – as a COVID treatment because he’s just that mentally unbalanced. But then there’s Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

DeSantis is an idiot, to be sure. But whenever he promotes something phony or corrupt, there’s usually a corrupt reason for it. Now the Miami Herald newspaper is reporting that DeSantis is being advised by a California psychiatrist who insists that Ivermectin is a valid COVID cure.

Why would Ron DeSantis take COVID advice from a psychiatrist of all people? Psychiatrists certainly have their field of medical expertise, but COVID isn’t it. And why would DeSantis seek out a psychiatrist from the other side of the country for this patently bad advice? After all, everyone from the CDC to the maker of Ivermectin has confirmed that it’s not a safe or valid COVID treatment. Our advice is to follow the money, the cronyism, and the political corruption – they tend to explain every move that DeSantis makes.
