Ron DeSantis is sabotaging himself in real time
There are certain types of people in this world who engage in something called self-sabotage.
Self-sabotage is where the person sometimes unconsciously engages in behavior that prevents them from achieving their goals.
Then there is also a type of person who always needs to be right.
This person cannot accept any other individual’s point of view. For this person, it is their way or no way. Obviously, this can cause many issues for the person and those around them.
But what happens when an individual possesses BOTH of these behavioral patterns?
That’s when you get Governor Ron DeSantis.
DeSantis is, as we all know, a difficult person to get along with, to put it mildly. He is also being hyped to death as the next big thing in politics.
Or he was.
Palmer Report has said for months now that the Floridian Governor’s popularity would not last. And this is being proven true as the Governor is finding his popularity teetering on the brink.
COVID is ravaging Florida. There is an average of 1,525 adult hospitalizations a day. More and more children are being affected as well.
The upward trajectory is not good, and the Delta variant is causing panic.
Polls are showing the obstinate Governor in hot water. His numbers are slipping badly. One of his competitors running for Governor in 2022, Charlie Crist, is beating him in one poll.
President Biden has called him out, but DeSantis still seems intent on doggedly pursuing his goal, which appears to be more focused on being right than about protecting the great people of Florida.
In the latest poll from St. Pete Polls, his numbers are shocking, with only 44 percent of Floridians approving of his job performance versus 49 percent who do not.
This paints a grim story for the Governor. His stubborn abrasiveness in being right is leading to self-sabotaging behavior of the worst type.
He is on a downward spiral, and that does not look like it will change anytime soon.
