Second cooperating witness comes forward in Donald Trump’s DOJ election tampering scandal

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Last night the news broke that former Acting Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen testified yesterday to the Senate about the plot by Donald Trump and former DOJ official Jeffrey Clark to overthrow the 2020 election results. At the time, Palmer Report wondered aloud if another Trump DOJ official, Richard Donoghue, might follow him.

Sure enough, Senator Dick Durbin has confirmed on the Sunday morning talk show circuit that Donoghue is set to testify to the Senate this upcoming week. This is a huge deal, because it means there are now two highly credible inside witnesses eager to testify about Trump’s DOJ election tampering.

It was also reported that Rosen has testified to the DOJ Inspector General about the Trump-Clark election plot, so now we’ll wait to see if Donoghue also testifies to the Inspector General. This is an arguably bigger deal than congressional testimony, because the IG’s office could serve as the launching pad for a federal criminal case against Trump and Clark for election tampering.

The DOJ makes decisions about bringing criminal charges based on the likelihood of conviction. Having both Rosen and Donoghue as cooperating trial witnesses, along with the contemporaneous notes that Donoghue reportedly took, would greatly improve the odds of convicting Trump on obstruction of justice and election tampering.
