Earlier today Palmer Report pointed out that just because the media hasn’t had anything new to report on the Matt Gaetz criminal investigation over the past week or two, it wasn’t an indicator that the investigation itself was off track. 95% of this stuff plays out behind the scenes, and the media is only able to report the small fraction of the story that it can dig up or gets fed.

We pointed out that a few weeks ago prosecutors let it be known through the media that they were looking to indict and arrest Matt Gaetz sometime in July, and this now happens to be July. We also pointed out that prosecutors might begin feeding new details to the media in the ramp-up to Gaetz’s indictment.

Sure enough, new information has indeed surfaced in the media tonight. Joel Greenberg, who earlier cut a plea deal against Matt Gaetz and others, has apparently turned out to be such a useful witness that he’s requested – and prosecutors have approved – a delay in his upcoming sentencing hearing because he wants to be able to show the judge all the help he’s provided.

This appears to confirm that Greenberg, despite being a hideous underage sex trafficker, has proven to be a legitimately useful cooperating witness against other targets. With prosecutors already having let it be known that they’re closing in on Matt Gaetz with a July indictment target, this Greenberg news can’t possibly be good for Gaetz.
