Matt Gaetz just got his butt handed to him

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Last week the Feds leaked to the media that they’re looking at criminally indicting Matt Gaetz sometime in July – which is a month that begins just seven days from now. Gaetz is still in Congress, but he’s clearly feeling the heat, and today he tried to change the subject by pushing deranged conspiracy theories about the United States military. It didn’t go well for him.

Matt Gaetz used today’s House hearing to push the Republican lie of the month, about Critical Race Theory somehow infecting and destroying every aspect of American society. Unfortunately for Gaetz, he tried this on General Mark Milley, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the U.S. military. Milley took it personally.

When Gaetz insisted that the military is somehow being damaged by Critical Race Theory, General Milley ripped Gaetz to pieces in response: “I personally find it offensive that we are accusing the United States military, our general officers, our commissioned, noncommissioned officers of being, quote, ‘woke’ or something else, because we’re studying some theories that are out there.”

Matt Gaetz is apparently clinging to the fantasy that if he pushes Republican propaganda hard enough, it’ll somehow magically save him from criminal indictment and prison. Of course nothing works that way in the real world, and Gaetz is merely trying to give himself false hope when he knows there is none. Making an enemy out of General Milley, and doing so on live national television, is not going to help Gaetz’s cause.
