This is just embarrassing for Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds

Back in 1975, Republican Iowa Governor Robert Ray invited the Tai Dam refugees from northwest Vietnam to settle in Iowa. Ray stepped up to the plate during the Carter administration in 1979 when he learned about the plight of “The Boat People” – other refugees from southeast Asia and pledged to take in 1,500 more refugees. Iowa would go on to resettle refugees from throughout the world, from places like Sudan, Bosnia, Poland, Syria, Czechoslovakia, and Hungary. This happened during the administrations of both Republican and Democratic governors.

Fast forward to today with Kim Reynolds squatting in the Governor’s office. Back in April she rejected a request from the administration to help find homes for migrant children because it was “the President’s problem.” This was after she accepted a request from the Orange Florida Man (OFM) the previous year to bring refugees to Iowa. Now, she is complaining because 19 children were brought to Iowa by the Federal government and placed with private sponsor families. As the Iowa Democratic Party said, CovidKim does not care about these children, but only wants to use them to score political points and curry favor with OFM’s Branch Trumpvidian Base.

There used to be a time when Iowa’s government welcomed refugees because it was the right thing to do. But that was before CovidKim came to office. She is despicable. Her actions in this and many other matters should be seen as further proof that the party of Eisenhower, Lincoln, and Bob Ray is gone now, and replaced with a OFM worshiping cult. Iowa needs to get its act together and replace people like CovidKim with a government that does right by people throughout the world.
