Kevin McCarthy is completely blowing the Marjorie Taylor Greene thing
I told you from day one that Marjorie Taylor Greene’s deranged antics, and House Republicans’ hesitance to do anything about her, would end up being a huge gift to House Democrats’ chances in 2022.
Sure enough, we’re now seeing that. Kevin McCarthy has been forced to issue a weak and too-late statement today, sorta kinda condemning Greene, which will only serve to alienate extreme right wing voters, while failing to appease voters in the middle.
The kicker is that House Republicans could have gained points by expelling Greene months ago. They could probably break even by expelling her now. But they won’t, because Kevin McCarthy is an idiot who cares more about staying on Trump’s good side than about winning strategy.
