The National Republican Congressional Committee is in total disarray heading into the 2022 midterms
When a new U.S. President takes office, the opposition party generally has the advantage in the following midterms. So on paper, the Republican Party should be in prime position for the 2022 elections. The trouble for the Republicans is that the toxically unpopular Donald Trump is still hanging around them like a boat anchor, and they’re allowing deranged clowns like Marjorie Taylor Greene and Matt Gaetz to serve as the faces of the party.
This ongoing series of blundering missteps on the part of the Republican Party has certainly given the Democrats a leg up in 2022, but the question is, how much of a leg up? All you have to do is take a look at what’s going on in the National Republican Congressional Committee.
The NRCC, which is responsible for getting Republicans elected and reelected to the House, is in complete turmoil. The NRCC’s political director and multiple other high ranking people have just been fired. This can only be taken as a sign that the remaining leadership within the NRCC thinks the group is wildly off track, and is in real danger of laying an egg in the midterms.
This gives a real opportunity to the Democratic Party, and the people who support it, in 2022. As always, the key to winning will be fierce support and hard work, as opposed to defeatism.
