Even churches are now trying to crack down on this QAnon lunacy
Pastors are starting to preach to their congregations against QAnon conspiracies, in an effort to educate their parishioners. They are demonstrating that QAnon conspiracies are not messages from God, and are in fact against Christian principles.
QAnon rumors are not accountable to any particular person and that person does not seem to have a great deal of spirituality. But those rumors play to peoples’ fears, their greed, their need to be at an advantage relative to others in the community. Bear in mind that progress is slow at present, but could gather momentum as pastors have felt the need to address the QAnon movement.
A large portion of the GOP constituency are evangelical Christians. The GOP appears to tolerate or embrace the QAnon rumor mill. What will happen to the GOP if the evangelical Christians become educated about how QAnon is at odds with Christian principles?
“People say that God sent COVID-19 to bring the church in America together to teach us the lesson. How could we know such a thing?” said Johnson, who also teaches biblical studies and theology at The King’s College in New York City. Who is God speaking to, to know such a thing? I doubt that it is QAnon. If God had a chosen representative, God would disclose that person so that others may know. God would not choose a shadowy internet entity.
As for God protecting the godly during a pandemic, I think God would want people to use the means at hand, such as masks and vaccines. If people used the same logic, we would still suffer from polio. Let the truth be told.
