“Separately lawyer up” – legal expert reveals just how screwed Donald Trump and his kids are
Donald Trump has been more or less a lock for prison since he was declared the loser of the 2020 election; the ongoing criminal investigation into his finances by the Manhattan District Attorney was always going to make sure of that. But now the New York Attorney General is also running a criminal investigation, and it’s not merely into Donald Trump, it’s into the Trump Organization – which means him and his kids.
This doesn’t just mean the opportunity for a broader array of criminal charges. It also means the opportunity to pit the targets against each other. Former FBI Assistant Director Frank Figliuzzi appeared on the Nicolle Wallace show this afternoon and advised each member of the Trump family to “separately lawyer up,” because each of their legal interests may be different than that of the other family members.
This raises the separate question of which Trump family members might be the most inclined to flip on which other Trump family members. That could be tricky to predict. Donald Trump would likely flip on his sons if it would save him in the New York Attorney General probe. But Donald Trump is already nailed in the Manhattan District Attorney probe anyway, so he’s not getting away with anything either way.
