Matt Gaetz is having one hell of a night
Today was probably the worst day of Matt Gaetz’s life to date, given that his close associate formally confessed to underage sex trafficking and then cut a plea deal against multiple unnamed men, after Greenberg’s lawyer previously hinted that Gaetz was one of them. Of course Gaetz is about to have some even worse days: the day of his arrest, the day his trial begins, the day of his verdict, and if the trial doesn’t go his way, the day his sentence begins.
Gaetz is out on a victory tour right now, which might as well be a farewell tour. It’s difficult to tell if he’s trying to put on a brave face, trying to fundraise money for his legal defense, trying to convince himself that he’s not really in trouble, or what. In any case, Gaetz’s tweets tonight keep getting more disturbing in terms of their hallucinatory conspiracy theories.
Matt Gaetz has now decided to align himself with the Arizona “election audit” clowns, even though they could well be headed for federal criminal indictment. Gaetz is quote tweeting John Solomon, the “reporter” who is reportedly a person of interest or material witness in the federal criminal case against Rudy Giuliani.
Not only is Matt Gaetz making himself look deranged with these lunatic tweets, he’s also aligning himself with people who have worsening troubles of their own and can’t help him. Then again, we can’t think of anyone who could help Gaetz at this point, unless he helps himself by cutting a deal against bigger fish like Donald Trump. But that doesn’t appear to be where his head currently is at all.
