“Enraged” and “exasperated” Donald Trump is in total freefall over Russia scandal

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump is falling to pieces by the minute. His behavior during the campaign and since taking office has been so erratic and disturbing that it’s clear he wasn’t all there in the head to begin with. But now that his own son Donald Trump Jr. has gotten himself into major legal trouble and caused the Russia scandal to explode, it turns out Trump has slipped into a whole new level of not-togetherness that’s setting off red flashing lights across the board.

Trump is now “enraged that the Russia cloud still hangs over his presidency” and “exasperated that his eldest son and namesake has become engulfed by it” among other disconcerting revelations in a new Washington Post article (link) โ€“ and the kicker here is that these observations are coming from Trump’s own associates. In other words, Trump is deteriorating so severely that even his friends are now running to a newspaper that Trump hates, in order to air their concerns about his behavior. And it gets worse.

Yesterday morning Donald Trump seemed to prove this narrative correct when he posted the only recent tweet to his account that doesn’t read like it was written by his staff: “The W.H. is functioning perfectly, focused on HealthCare, Tax Cuts/Reform & many other things. I have very little time for watching T.V.” (link). When the person in charge begins publicly and defensively asserting that everything is going “perfectly” when it’s clearly not going well, that’s merely a sign that things are even worse on the inside than is known on the outside.

Trump’s reference to not watching television is also a dead giveaway that he’s been watching enough television to be aware of how many people on television are now making fun of him for spending all day watching. And then he went on to tell reporters that โ€“ no kidding โ€“ he wants his Mexico border wall to be see-through so drug dealers can’t throw bags of drugs over the wall and hit Americans in the head (link). Total freefall indeed.
