Ted Lieu rips Donald Trump to pieces
The “former guy” has largely disappeared from public life, while he fends off mounting legal and financial troubles, and awaits his inevitable criminal indictment. But he does periodically release increasingly stupid statements aimed at… well, we’re not sure.
We don’t find any of Trump’s statements to be interesting these days. But some of the responses to his statements end up being notable. For instance, after Trump claimed that the Capitol attackers posed “zero threat” to anyone, Jeff Flake of all people ripped into him: “Zero threat??? It took a massive toll on life and limb, on property, on rule of law and on our reputation globally. What kind of man would say this, and what kind of people would follow him.”
Then Congressman Ted Lieu ripped Trump to pieces: “The 140 police officers injured on Jan 6 by the pro-Trump mob would disagree with the former President’s statement that the mob posed “zero threat.” One officer was assaulted and died. The former President should stop disrespecting police with his sick, demented statements.”
It’s important that we keep reminding everyone of just how much disrespect the pro-Trump and right wing folks have been showing law enforcement. The Republicans love to claim they back the blue, but in reality it’s simply not the case. When the Republicans run again in 2022, we need to make sure that Trump and his extremist lunacy are hung around their necks like an albatross.
