Ted Lieu just ripped the voter suppression bill to pieces

Despite widespread pushback and impending economic boycotts, the Republican-controlled Georgia state government has passed a sweeping voter suppression bill into law. The move represents a desperate and depraved attempt on the GOP’s part at clawing its way back into power.

Congressman Ted Lieu is having none of it:

There are two things to keep in mind. First, we’re going to end up passing HR1 into law on a federal level, which will wipe out much or most of the state-level voter suppression effort. Second, we just proved in the 2020 election that sufficient voter turnout beats voter suppression. In other words, we just have to keep working hard, both in terms of getting our voting rights legislation passed, and in terms of driving turnout in 2022.
