The Capitol attack just got even uglier for Roger Stone
Over the past week, the Feds have arrested two Oath Keepers members in relation to the January 6th domestic terrorist attack on the U.S. Capitol. These two arrests were notable because Roger Stone had reportedly hired them both to handle “security” for him in the same timeframe as the attack.
Palmer Report predicted that the Feds would end up offering each of these two men a lenient plea deal in exchange for flipping on Roger Stone, but only if they took the deal before the other guy cut a deal. The question was just how much or little these two people doing “security” for Stone would really know about Stone’s actions on the day of the attack. After all, were they just hired muscle that Stone had never seen before or since? Did they merely stand outside his hotel?
Now we’re getting the answer, and it’s not exactly good news for Roger Stone. CNN is reporting that one of the two Oath Keepers was Stone’s driver on the day before the attack. This means he was in a car with Stone, potentially having conversations with Stone about the attack, potentially able to overhear Stone’s phone conversations with others, and so on.
We’ll see where this goes. But we continue to expect that the Feds will attempt to get one or both of these Oath Keepers to flip on Roger Stone, so they can then pressure Stone into flipping on Donald Trump. Keep in mind that Stone only got his recent pardon because he publicly threatened to spill the dirt on Trump. Stone clearly has no interest in going to prison. And since his pardon doesn’t apply to the Capitol attack, Stone’s only remaining option may be to flip on Trump.
