They couldn’t care less

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Late Friday night not one single Republican in the House voted for President Biden’s American Rescue plan as if they don’t have poor folks in their districts who were affected by the pandemic. What this tells us – and frankly, what we already knew – is that although they all voted for the 2017 Tax Scam that did zero for anyone but their donors, when they have the chance to do something big for low and moderate income Americans the most they can muster up is zero.

Mitch McConnell says the economy is “looking up” and he is looking to the future not the past. That is typical McConnell gaslighting. If you couldn’t pay your full rent for months, the past is the future, because guess what, you still owe that money. The debt doesn’t magically disappear when you get your $10.50 an hour job back.

What I’m sick of are Republicans who are not broke telling broke folks how they can stretch a buck. What they have shown over and over again is their complete ignorance about what it takes to live on $20K or less a year but yet have a complete understanding that billion dollar corporations need a tax break because again, they’re going to try trickle down economics. Well the Dems got voted in to try trickle up, so just get out of the way.

President Biden is a patriot and really believes every American is his responsibility. But he is also a savvy politician and looking to the next election cycle hoping folks in certain districts don’t forget that when it came to discriminating against transgender kids their representative was all in, but when it came to helping them put food on the table, they couldn’t care less.
