New York just expanded its criminal case against Donald Trump

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Earlier this evening Palmer Report spelled out the three criminal prosecutions that Donald Trump is now facing, in three different jurisdictions. Now it turns out one of them has expanded its criminal case against Trump – and the timing of this reveal is likely not a coincidence.

Bloomberg is reporting this evening that the Manhattan District Attorney’s office has expanded its criminal case against Donald Trump to include loans that Trump took out for his major New York City real estate properties, including Trump Tower. The article doesn’t state the specific criminal nature of the loans. However, Michael Cohen previously stated in his congressional testimony that Trump routinely lied about the value of his assets when applying for bank loans, which amounts to felony mortgage fraud.

What stands out there is that the Manhattan District Attorney is making a point of leaking this information immediately after the end of Trump’s impeachment trial. The timing can’t be coincidence. It’s fairly clear that the District Attorney now wants the public’s focus to be squarely on the criminal charges that Trump is going to face.
