Bon voyage, Lou Dobbs!
It feels like another lifetime at this point, but a couple decades ago, Lou Dobbs was a semi-respectable CNN host. Then he started gradually letting his xenophobic racism creep into his show, and accordingly, he ended up on Fox Business Channel – the place where Fox News parks its hosts who are too disgusting even for the main Fox News channel.
Now, one day after a voting machine company dropped the hammer, Fox News has canceled and fired Lou Dobbs. It shouldn’t have taken something like this to finally get his racist lie-filled drivel off the air, but at least he’s gone.
Sure, we suspect he might end up surfacing on one of the new sub-Fox News far right propaganda TV networks eventually. Then again, maybe not. At this point his deranged lies have become a liability.
Remarkably, Fox News is still employing people like Jeanine Pirro, Tucker Carlson, and Sean Hannity, who routinely use their shows to promote lies that are just as deranged as what was coming out of Lou Dobbs’ mouth. But again, a corrupt entity like Fox doesn’t make decisions based on what’s right or what makes sense; it’s about profit.
