Everyone piles on after House Republican Nancy Mace goes completely off the rails

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

This week a number of far right conspiracy theorists made up the deranged false claim that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was somehow lying about her experiences during the U.S. Capitol attack. They based this entirely on their own lack of understanding that the U.S. Capitol complex is far larger than just the Capitol dome.

Brand new House Republican Nancy Mace spent her first month in office appearing on TV and saying quasi-reasonable things. But when she voted against impeachment, it became clear that she was a fraud. Now she’s driving that point home, by joining the conspiracy theorists in claiming that AOC is somehow lying about the Capitol attack.

Now everyone is pushing back against Nancy Mace by pointing out that her Capitol complex office is down the hall from AOC’s office, and that Mace spent January 6th tweeting about how she had to evacuate due to a “threat.”

The trouble with reasonable-sounding Republicans like Nancy Mace is that they quickly realize their party doesn’t want to hear reasonable things, and so they end up morphing into deranged conspiracy theorists in the hope of advancing within their party. In reality Nancy Mace is no better than Marjorie Taylor Greene; she’s just less blatant about it.
