Claire McCaskill just nailed it

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Back when the new Congress was first being seated, Palmer Report laid out a plan for the Democrats to retain control of the House in the 2022 midterms: take these absolutely atrocious new House Republicans like Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert, push them to the front, make them the new face of the GOP, and force every other House Republican to take a firm position on whether or not they support Greene and Boebert. That way, House Republicans will lose votes in 2022 just by taking either side.

Thanks to the incitement of the Capitol attack, and the ugly scandals that are coming out about their pasts, Greene and Boebert have found their way out front pretty quickly – particularly Greene, whose recent past rhetoric involved calling for executions and so on, and who is now facing an expulsion vote.

Now former Senator Claire McCaskill, appearing on MSNBC in primetime on Wednesday night, has laid out a strategy that’s fairly similar to what Palmer Report proposed. She’s urging reporters to spend every day asking House Republicans to take a position whether they agree with Marjorie Taylor Greene’s violent and deranged rhetoric. Whether they try to make excuses for her, or refuse to answer the question, they’ll end up looking bad for it – and the Democrats can use it against them in 2022.

When the Republicans refused to take a stand against Trump, it ended up costing them the House, the Senate, and the White House. If the Republicans refuse to take a stand against Greene, it’ll help make sure they don’t retake Congress. We just have to make sure we take the Republicans’ failure to take out their own trash, and make sure the voters in the middle know all about it.
