Mitch McConnell’s new game
We are hearing from soon to be Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell about the events of January 6, 2021, a day that will live in infamy. Remember that McConnell is a member of the Gang of 8, who gets intelligence briefings and has an appreciation of what really took place.
On Tuesday, McConnell issued the following statement: “The mob was fed lies. They were provoked by the president and other powerful people. And they tried to use fear and violence to stop a specific proceeding of the first branch of the federal government, which they did not like.”
As we have often written about the man, the con is always on. He literally has the word “con” in the middle of his name. This is the same guy who refused to hold an impeachment trial or do anything to deal with the people that he knows helped to instigate the insurrection. But perhaps that he knows whatever he learned from the briefings and evidence, he can find others in his party to vote to convict Trump in the impeachment and to ban him from ever holding office again.
