Here’s the thing about Donald Trump pardoning himself

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Trump may pardon himself sometime in the next three days. If he does, this is not something to panic about. It doesn’t mean he’s suddenly winning, or he’s going to get away with it all. His self-pardon will likely be overturned in court. Even if not, he’s facing state charges.

In fact, not only is New York State accelerating its criminal case against Donald Trump, Georgia officials are also said to be pursuing a criminal case against Trump as well. One way or another, Trump will end up in prison. The most that a self-pardon can do is perhaps slow down the inevitable a bit.
