It’s finally official for Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff

Dear Palmer Report readers, this is an uncertain time so I'm asking for your help. If you can each contribute $5 or $25 or $75 – whatever matches your budget – to help with Palmer Report’s ongoing operating expenses, it’ll help a lot. Thank you so much. Contribute here. Much thanks, Bill Palmer

It’s been clear since last evening that Raphael Warnock would win his Senate race, and it’s been clear since very late last night that Jon Ossoff would also win his Senate race. Multiple major news outlets called Warnock’s victory last night, but Ossoff’s race remained uncalled.

That’s now changed. Multiple major news outlets are declaring this afternoon that Ossoff has indeed won. It appears that Ossoff will win by a large enough margin to avoid a recount, which could help him get seated in the Senate a few days sooner.

In any case, even as this pro-Trump domestic terrorist attack plays out at the United States Capitol Building, it’s now official that the Democrats will control the Senate and House going forward. What a surreal day.
