It’s over: SCOTUS just rejected Donald Trump’s Texas election case

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Moments ago, the U.S. Supreme Court refused to hear Donald Trump’s Texas-based case to overturn the 2020 presidential election. This means Trump is fully out of legal options, and it paves the way for the Electoral College to go ahead and vote for President-elect Joe Biden on Monday.

There was always a literally zero chance that the Supreme Court would overturn the election, after Trump lost the deciding states by margins that were far too large for the courts to figure out a way to overturn even if they wanted to. The only question was whether the Supreme Court would hear the case and then reject it, or refuse to hear it at all. We were expecting the latter, and sure enough, that’s what has happened.

This evening’s Supreme Court vote was 7-2. But those two Justices were merely voting in favor of hearing the case, not voting in favor of Trump’s argument. This was a thorough rejection of Trump’s attempt at overthrowing the election. It’s over. It’s been over for awhile. But now it’s really over. Trump can keep whining if he wants; he has no avenues left.
