Michigan’s Republican legislators publicly reject Donald Trump’s conspiracies after meeting with him
Remember when Palmer Report told you that Donald Trump’s meeting with Michigan’s Republican legislators wasn’t going to add up to anything? Sure enough, the Michigan Republicans just issued this statement, per CNN:
“We have not yet been made aware of any information that would change the outcome of the election in Michigan and as leg leaders, we will follow the law and follow the normal process regarding Michigan’s electors.”
In other words, it was a whole lot of nothing. They took the meeting because Trump asked them to, but they’re not stupid enough to risk getting themselves criminally charged by illegally giving Biden’s electoral votes to Trump – particularly considering the courts would immediately strike such nonsense anyway. Now they’re announcing that the “evidence” Trump showed them today wasn’t anything.
Today’s meeting never should have happened. Donald Trump certainly committed felony election tampering by pushing for the meeting, and we think Michigan’s Republican legislators should be criminally investigated by the Michigan Attorney General for good measure; conspiring to commit a felony is still a felony, even if you don’t go through with the felony. But this was never going to be a real thing. There is zero chance of Trump somehow magically stealing Michigan.
