Joy Reid just nailed it
If you listen to legal experts – who aren’t preening for the cable news cameras, at least – they’ll point out that there is a widely documented New York grand jury that’s in the process of indicting Donald Trump on financial charges, and that Trump’s next act will center around fighting to stay out of prison.
But for some reason, MSNBC is still largely painting a future landscape in which Trump simply waltzes out of office when he loses and launches his next big cable news venture, while launching a 2024 presidential campaign, and somehow magically not facing the criminal charges that he’s facing.
So it was a relief tonight when MSNBC host Joy Reid pointed out that Donald Trump is simply acting like a baby right now, and then said this: “You know who’s not going to treat him like a baby? Cy Vance. Letitia James.” That’s a reference to the New York County District Attorney and the New York Attorney General, respectively. It’s a reminder that Trump’s next chapter involves things like criminal charges and asset forfeitures, not some mythical kingmaker role.
