LOCK HIM UP!
Did anybody else notice that the pearl-clutching, counterfeit Republican outrage over the Hunter Biden laptop “scandal” went away after November third, just like a miracle? Did anybody else notice that the pearl-clutching counterfeit Republican outrage over the Obama-spied-on-my-campaign “biggest crime in American history” so-called “Obamagate scandal” went away after November third, just like a miracle?
Did anybody else notice, on the other hand, that coronavirus is still with us, that it’s still killing a thousand Americans a day? Did anybody else notice that children are still locked away in cages? Did anybody else notice that global warming is still a thing and America shamefully remains the only nation on earth not signatory to the Paris Climate Accord? Did anybody else notice that black lives still matter?
Welcome to the difference between the make-believe, sideshow, distracting, fake outrages of the Republican Party and the real life concerns of We the People. As I write this, 74 million Americans — the most in presidential election history — have said No! to lies, No! to fake scandals and No! to Donald Trump. With approximately 8 million more votes left to count, that number will probably climb as high as 80 million. Donald Trump has just received the largest repudiation in American history — and climbing. We the People don’t want him. We the People have spoken.
We the People are tired of a do-nothing braggart who spends his days playing golf, watching TV and rage-tweeting. We the People are tired of this self-dealing, self-congratulating, blame-shifting, credit-stealing coward usurping the sacred President’s House. We are sick to death of his constant hatefulness, his divisiveness, his pettiness, his littleness. We are tired of the lives he endangers with his insulting, disgusting tweets. We are sick and tired of the endless stream of lies and bullshit emanating 24 hours a day seven days a week from White House lickspittles and sycophants playing to an audience of one. We the People don’t want Jabba the Hutt for president. We voted for Han Solo. And we got him!
We the People have had it with picking up the newspaper every day or logging on to our computers or turning on our televisions and, with a sense of inevitable dread, wondering what the hell the moron has done now. We are tired of waking up that way and going to sleep at night in a world measurably less safe because an evil villain is in charge.
We the People are tired of watching this orange cretin, this vain idiot, this uber-creep, this serial assaulter and raper of dozens of women, this murderer, this destroyer of family businesses, this traitor, this loser, this sucker, this mocker of disabled reporters and Gold Star Families, this racist, this admirer of the Hitlers and the Mussolinis and the Putins of the world, treated to honor and applause and pomp and ceremony with his infuriating look of smug, self-indulgent presumption endlessly signalling that he’s somehow earned it. We the People endured these outrages because we knew one day there would be a reckoning. We knew that the highest does not stand without the lowest, and if we had to endure Donald Trump being lifted to vertiginous heights, it was to ensure that his fall would be further, swifter and every inch as damaging as his crimes. We the People have shoved him from that precipice, and Donald Trump is about to fall further and faster and harder than anyone else in the history of the world.
We the People demand that Donald Trump goes to prison. For crimes against humanity, for crimes against every citizen of America and every citizen of the world, Donald Trump belongs in prison for the rest of his life. Let’s put him there. And, as ever, ladies and gentlemen, brothers and sisters, comrades and friends, stay safe.
