Donald Trump begins the bargaining stage of his downfall

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump has lost the presidency. Next he’ll lose his assets, his family, and eventually his freedom once he goes to prison. Trump’s life, as he knows it, is over. Trump has spent the past couple days in denial, insisting that he’ll still somehow magically win reelection. But now he appears to have moved on to the bargaining stage.

Trump’s pals at Fox News are now reporting that according to its sources, “under some conditions Trump would consider an appropriate transfer of power.” In other words, Trump is now thinking about whether he should suddenly start behaving in the hope that going peacefully might soften his reputation, and make it easier for him to fend off criminal prosecution.

This isn’t about whether or not we can trust what Donald Trump is saying about his exit. The point is that it doesn’t matter. He’ll make his choice about whether he wants to try to make a mess on his way out the door in the hope of leveraging it into some kind of lenient plea deal, or if he wants to play nice on his way out the door in the hope of prosecutorial leniency. Once he makes his choice about his downfall, he’ll be dealt with appropriately.

To give you an idea of how poorly this could go for Donald Trump, one Secret Service agent is already telling a White House correspondent that if Trump refuses to leave the White House at the end of his term, he’ll be treated as a “squatter.”
