Joe Biden hits important milestone in Pennsylvania
It’s been abundantly clear since early this morning that Joe Biden is going to win Pennsylvania, and therefore win the 2020 election. The media continues to hold off on calling the election, for reasons that seem increasingly ratings driven and/or cowardly. But now Biden has hit an important milestone in the state.
CNN just interviewed a Pittsburgh area election official who confirmed that Joe Biden’s lead has grown by another three thousand votes, and is now at about 20,000. This is a big deal, because it places increasing pressure on the major media outlets to go ahead and call the election.
Earlier today MSNBC suggested on-air that it wanted to wait until Joe Biden’s lead in Pennsylvania reached about 35,000 votes before calling it for him. It’s unclear if other major media outlets are using the same threshold. But in any case, Biden’s Pennsylvania lead is now half of what it apparently needs to be for MSNBC to call the election for him.
