Melania Trump bails on Donald Trump’s campaign rally
Melania Trump has announced that she won’t be attending tonight’s Donald Trump campaign rally, due to what she describes as a “lingering cough” and an “abundance of caution.” We wish her well with her health, but this raises a number of questions, and none of them are good for her or her husband.
First, this means that seventeen days after testing positive for coronavirus, Melania still has symptoms. This raises concerns that she could be what’s commonly referred to as a “long hauler” – someone whose coronavirus symptoms stick around long term. It’s also notable that she’s canceling her appearance at this event after having previously confirmed it, raising questions about what’s changed.
Moreover, if Melania is still sick with coronavirus and she had a more mild case to begin with, are we really supposed to believe that Donald Trump – who was so sick he was hospitalized and given three different experimental treatments – is somehow fully recovered? Just what are Donald’s doctors doing to try to mask the true state of his health?
There’s also the possibility that Melania simply decided she didn’t want to attend this event, which we wouldn’t blame her for. But if that’s the case, it would suggest that she’s trying to distance herself even further from Donald Trump on his way to apparent defeat.
