Donald Trump’s final distraction
Who remembers the hordes of immigrants marching north from Central America in 2018? No? You mean, you don’t recall when Donald Trump sent US troops to the U.S.-Mexican border to stave off the millions of armed MS-13 thugs who were angrily marching north to sell drugs, rape women and kill families? In a daily diet of lies, scandals and impeachable outrages, I wouldn’t blame you if you’d forgotten.
I only bring it up just now because that little piece of Republican-led pearl-clutching and scare-mongering totally evaporated, never to be heard about again, as soon as the 2018 election ended. It was a fiction created to frighten you and get you to vote Republican. I guess it didn’t work.
But in the same fashion, watch the Hunter Biden laptop and email “scandal” disappear from the face of the earth on November 4th, 2020, the day after the presidential election. Win or lose it will cease to be of any value to Republicans, and they will shamelessly abandon their phoney, outrage-signalling, counterfeit fraud of a nontroversy the minute the election is over. Just like they did with their “hordes of immigrants” scare in 2018.
Meanwhile Donald Trump Jr, the chinless dauphin and error apparent, continues to hype this tired but familiar “but his emails” nonsense every five minutes on Twitter with inanities such as:
“The emails are real and Joe Biden is compromised.
Imagine how much more there is? Imagine what we would find if the media attempted to even look!!! #JoeKnew”
Better yet, imagine what America would be like if Donald Trump and the pirate ship we call the Trump administration took coronavirus seriously. While Europe is heading for its second, relatively minor spike in COVID cases, the United States is headed for its third major spike, each an order of magnitude larger than the previous. By all appearances this one will culminate with at least 100,000 new coronavirus cases a day. That could be a leading indicator which might mean a September 11th number of American deaths from COVID-19 every day.
Let us also not forget that Hunter Biden is a human being, a non-politician who did absolutely nothing wrong. One can only imagine the hell that is his life just now. His is a life that Donald Trump, members of Trump’s family and the Republican Party are happy to obliterate in order to continue to cling to power. The good news for Hunter Biden is this nonsense will all disappear on November fourth. The bad news is his personal reputation has probably been destroyed for life.
Hunter Biden should expect no apologies from the empathy-free Republicans, because accepting responsibility for their crimes is not a Republican trait. They’ll only “get it” if it ever happens to them or one of their own, and only then if they make the connection. As for Donald Trump, he will insist that Hunter is a “horrible person” right up to the day they drag him off to prison and beyond. Trump never apologizes because in his mind he never makes a mistake. Meanwhile, as I write this, 225,222 are dead from coronavirus.
There are a million reasons why Donald Trump is unfit to be president of the United States, this has been another one. So let’s rise up and vote him out of office and safely into prison. And, as ever, ladies and gentlemen, brothers and sisters, comrades and friends, stay safe.
