Donald Trump campaign hits the panic button over final debate
Donald Trump is currently losing by a healthy margin. His rallies and messaging aren’t working for him. The phony scandals he’s creating about Joe Biden aren’t going anywhere. His last best shot is the final presidential debate, meaning he has to participate โ but he and his people are clearly concerned about the debate.
Donald Trump’s big October surprise, a laughably phony story about Hunter Biden’s laptop, has landed with a thud. It’s enough of a non-story that when the moderator announced her planned topics, they obviously didn’t include Hunter Biden. But Trump’s campaign manager Bill Stepien isn’t too happy about this.
Stepien has sent an angry public letter to the Debate Commission โ which he idiotically calls the “Biden Debate Commission” โ spelling out a series of lunatic conspiracy theories about Joe Biden, and demanding to know why none of them are listed as topics. To be clear, this letter will have zero impact on the debate topics.
This won’t stop Donald Trump from rudely and inappropriately shouting out these deranged false accusations during the course of the debate, and we’ll see how moderator Kristen Welker decides to handle him. But this letter reveals that the Trump campaign is in absolute panic mode. What’s more, Stepien has to know this letter will merely be laughed at by everyone, and he’s seemingly only releasing it to try to appease Trump, who has clearly lost the plot altogether.
