Mike Pence’s vanishing act grows even stranger
On Wednesday, Mike Pence showed his face in public for the first time since being exposed to coronavirus, and he was sporting pink eye, a potential coronavirus symptom. On Thursday, Pence abruptly canceled his Friday campaign events and went home to Washington DC for no stated reason.
Given the highly suspicious nature of what transpired, and the fact that most people were going to assume Mike Pence had coronavirus if he simply disappeared once he got back to DC, we were expecting him to make up some excuse to make a little noise on Friday. But by day’s end, he still hadn’t done anything.
This suggests that whatever is wrong with Mike Pence, whether he has coronavirus, or he simply has non-coronavirus pink eye, he’s bad off enough that his people are still afraid to put him in public view. Pence will allegedly resume campaigning on Saturday, and we’ll see if that happens. But at this point it’s fair to conclude that either Pence has COVID, or he and his people are just unbelievably bad at this.
