Donald Trump goes completely berserk after Nancy Pelosi schedules 25th Amendment event
What is Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi doing by announcing that she’s holding a 25th Amendment event tomorrow, when she’s not the one who has the authority to invoke the 25th Amendment? She could be looking to pressure the GOP Senate into pressuring Mike Pence to do it, or she could just be using talk of the 25th to rattle Trump and turn public sentiment even more strongly against him and the Republicans heading into election day.
In any case, Donald Trump is already going completely berserk about it. First he tweeted “Crazy Nancy is the one who should be under observation. They don’t call her Crazy for nothing!” Then he retweeted someone who said “I wouldn’t put it past
@SpeakerPelosi to stage a coup.” Then moments later Trump retweeted someone else who said “The 25th Amendment does not work that way, and it’s also not a “coup” to use it.” So now Trump is arguing against himself about whether it would be a coup.
Nancy Pelosi has consistently demonstrated that she’s adept at rattling Donald Trump and getting under his skin. Just by speaking the words “25th Amendment” today, Pelosi has goaded Trump into having yet another meltdown, and driving the 25th Amendment debate to the forefront for the media and the public. Whatever Pelosi is planning for tomorrow, Trump just unwittingly did her a big favor by playing it up.
