Nancy Pelosi holding 25th Amendment meeting
Donald Trump’s physical and mental health are in freefall. His behavior growing more deranged by the hour, either as a result of steroid abuse or psychological collapse or both. He’s endangering the country. He’s endangering himself. He needs to be removed, immediately, via the 25th Amendment. This is literally what it was written for.
We all know that Vice President Mike Pence is the only one who can forcibly invoke the 25th Amendment, and even then, only with a majority of the cabinet on board. But Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi announced today that she’s holding a meeting tomorrow about the 25th Amendment.
It’s not clear what Pelosi is specifically planning to do, but she has a few options. For instance, she can use her event to publicly call on Pence and the cabinet to invoke the 25th Amendment, thus building momentum for it, and getting the public to place pressure on them to do so.
Of course if Pence does invoke it, then realistically speaking, it’ll all but guarantee that the Trump-Pence ticket loses in November. But if Pelosi can steer public sentiment such that the public is demanding the 25th Amendment heading into election day anyway, Trump and Pence will have no chance of winning anyway. We’ll see what happens tomorrow.
