Turns out Donald Trump’s coronavirus drug treatment is even more experimental and dangerous than we knew

Over the past few days we’ve all placed a significant amount of focus on the fact that Donald Trump is being treated with the powerful steroid dexamethasone. It’s a sign that the coronavirus is in his lungs. It can also cause side effects such as mania and hallucinations, which could explain his whole new level of rage tweeting, and bizarre decisions such as killing the stimulus package.

But now it turns out a different drug treatment taken by Trump may be even more concerning. Slate is now reporting that Donald Trump was one of the first ten people granted “compassionate use” of an experimental antibody treatment from Regeneron, which he was given at the White House before his condition worsened and he was taken to the hospital.

This means Donald Trump took this drug treatment without having any real idea what it was going to do to him. There are only two possibilities here. One is that Trump took the drug because he’s friends with the CEO of Regeneron, and he took the drug solely because he wanted to promote its use with coronavirus patients. The other possibility is that Trump’s coronavirus is so severe, his doctors felt compelled to immediately jump to highly experimental treatments.

Let’s keep an eye on this. Donald Trump is already behaving in aggressively incoherent fashion today, rage tweeting even more ridiculously than usual, and abruptly canceling the stimulus package for no apparent reason – potentially attributable to “roid rage” from the dexamethasone. Now it turns out his antibody treatment was also suspicious in nature, and who knows what kind of impact it’ll have on him going forward.
