LeBron James comes out swinging for Breonna Taylor
Today a total travesty of justice played out, as the grand jury in Kentucky only brought criminal charges against one of the police officers who murdered Breonna Taylor in her home, and those charges had nothing to do with murdering her. Of course grand juries generally only go as far as prosecutors want them to, meaning Kentucky’s Republican Attorney General Daniel Cameron is a villain who needs to be voted out of office.
We’re not the only ones who are outraged at what transpired today. NBA star and social activist LeBron James tweeted this: “I’ve been lost for words today! I’m devastated, hurt, sad, mad! We want Justice for Breonna yet justice was met for her neighbors apartment walls and not her beautiful life. Was I surprised at the verdict. Absolutely not but damnit I was & still am hurt and heavy hearted! I send my love to Breonna mother, family and friends! I’m sorry! I’m sorry! I’m sorry!!”
LeBron also added this: “The most DISRESPECTED person on earth is THE BLACK WOMAN! I promise you I’ll do my best to change this as much as I can and even more!! LOVE to you QUEENS all over this country and beyond!”
