Here’s just how bad of a day Donald Trump is having

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Scandals ultimately only matter in politics if the public is interested in them and swayed by them. While Donald Trump has had hundreds of individual scandals since taking office, and at least a dozen major bombshell scandals that should have finished him off, the reality is that it has to be the kind of scandal that captures the public’s attention and imagination.

To give you an idea of just how bad of a day Donald Trump is having right now, the number one book on Amazon’s sales charts is Bob Woodward’s new Trump tell-all book, and the number two book on Amazon’s sales charts is Michael Cohen’s new Trump tell-all book.

This demonstrates that the scandals laid out in the two books are of great interest to the general public. The question is not whether these books and scandals will drive Donald Trump’s poll numbers lower. He’s already losing by roughly eight points in the polling averages. The question is whether these scandals will cost Trump any chance at making the surge in the polls that he desperately needs.
