Donald Trump has been stunned into silence

Dear Palmer Report readers,

We all understand what a dark era we're heading into. Journalists will be prosecuted. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. Advertising networks can't be counted on. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight, because someone has to.

In that regard we're looking to start funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens or how dark things get. We've launched a reader supported fund, and we've already raised $2097 and counting. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can contribute here. Thank you in advance.
Sincerely,
Bill Palmer

With Michael Cohen’s book set to be released on Tuesday, Donald Trump took a preemptive shot on Tuesday morning by tweeting that Cohen was a “lier” and threatening to put Cohen back in prison. Cohen responded by simply pointing out that it’s spelled “liar.” After that, Trump had nothing else to say.

Even after Michael Cohen appeared on the Rachel Maddow and began spilling all kinds of dirt, Trump still has nothing to say. The interview ended two hours ago. He hasn’t tweeted a peep about it. He’s not bothering to deny anything that Cohen said, or hurl any insults at Cohen. He’s simply gone silent altogether.

That’s notable, because everyone in politics knew that Michael Cohen was scheduled to go on Maddow tonight. Yet Donald Trump and his people clearly didn’t bother to prepare any pushback or counter programming ahead of time. And even though we all know that Trump was narcissistically watching the interview, he can’t seem to come up with anything to say in response.

That’ll change, of course. By morning, Donald Trump may be ranting and raving about how Michael Cohen is “jurk” or a “kriminal” or whatever misspelled insult Trump comes up with next. But tonight, Trump is stunned into silence. It’s a reminder of just how ugly things are getting for him, and how slow he’s getting on the uptake.
