Dear Palmer Report readers,
We all understand what a dark era we're heading into. Journalists will be prosecuted. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. Advertising networks can't be counted on. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight, because someone has to.
In that regard we're looking to start funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens or how dark things get. We've launched a reader supported fund, and we've already raised $2097 and counting. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can contribute here. Thank you in advance.
Sincerely,
Bill Palmer
Palmer Report
Donald Trump has spent years publicly insulting and disparaging individual military people, from John McCain to John Kelly. So it was no surprise to learn that he’s privately referred to all fallen U.S. military troops as “losers” and “suckers” for putting their lives on the line to defend their country.
Retired four-star Army General Barry McCaffrey is reading Donald Trump the riot act on Twitter: “Trump accusing the US senior military leadership of loving war to support manufacturers of planes and bombs is a DEADLY INSULT TO THE LEADERSHIP OF THE ARMED FORCES. These senior officers have been in combat for 20+ years since they were Captains.”
Meanwhile we’re still waiting for new polling to show the impact that Donald Trump’s disparaging remarks have had on how active duty military personnel plan to vote. One poll conducted by the Military Times, shortly before Trump’s remarks, had Joe Biden slightly ahead of Trump with active duty personnel.
