Andrew Cuomo unloads on Donald Trump in devastating fashion
It’s now clear that Donald Trump didn’t get a bounce in the polls from his convention, and he’s still eight points behind Joe Biden in the polling averages. This means Trump has just two months – less than that in early voting states – to figure out how to turn things around. Instead he’s playing petty games by seeking to cut off federal funding to a handful of cities he personally doesn’t like, including New York City.
Let’s just say that New York Governor Andrew Cuomo isn’t impressed with Donald Trump’s threat. Cuomo pointed out that Donald Trump will likely never again set foot in his former hometown of New York City, where he’s almost universally despised. Cuomo said this: “He can’t have enough bodyguards to walk through New York City, people don’t want to have anything to do with him.”
Of course Governor Cuomo wasn’t speaking literally, but far right pundits are nonetheless having a field day pretending that this was some kind of threat against Donald Trump’s safety. Here’s what it actually was: a reminder of just how badly Trump has failed America, and how throughly Americans are turning against him.
